Ellis Bridge, Ahmedabad



Ellis Bridge is a century old heritage bridge situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.This bowstring arch truss bridge was the first bridge of Ahmedabad.
The total length of the bridge is 480 meters and the width of the bridge is 6.3 meters.
The bridge was constructed by Himmatlal Dhirajram Bhachech in 1892.

The Sidi Saiyad Mosque was built in 1573, which is one of the most famous mosque of Ahmedabad. It was built by Sidi Saiyad. The mosque is entirely arcuated and is famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework  windows  on the side and rear arches. The rear wall is filled with square stone pierced panels in geometrical designs. The two bays flanking the central aisle have reticulated stone slabs carved in designs of intertwined trees and foliage and a palm motif. Astapadji Mandir, Doshivada ni Pol

Few days ago i had visited to the ancient Ahmedabad, on a heritage walk...... Where a visit Doshivada Ni Pol, a place where you can find beautiful carvings on walls... the best place was Astapadji Mandir.... this is a jain "derasar" (mandir)... All the wall, all pillars were beautifully carved...  It has beautifully carved 'Jharokha'(a jharakha is a type of overhanging enclosed balcony used in architecture of Rajasthan)
